The Monthly Expense Journal allows you to manage your monthly expenses based on your spending habits. Record your monthly salary in the salary columns. Start listing your monthly expenses, rounding each number to the highest dollar. If an expense is not listed, enter that expense and the amount in the Other Expenses section in the middle of the journal. Scroll to the bottom of the journal once you have recorded all of your expenses, then click the Calculate Total button. The amount spent will be subtracted from your monthly salary with the total amount remaining from your salary. Black lettering showing positive (money saved) or red lettering showing negative (exceeding monthly salary) will show you how well you are managing your money. Click save, and the journal saves your information based on the month you entered. Managing your expenses helps in the process of saving and budgeting. Your yearly expenses will be calculated and shown in a bar graph based on the expense, the amount spent, the year, and the category of that expense. Use the this tool to help track your yearly expenses for tax purposes. Please save and file your receipts. A paper copy is always the best way to maintain actual data. Example (car expenses (repair, oil change, tires, gas, etc.).
The Timeline Calculator allows you to calculate the time it will take to save a specific amount of money and how long it will take you to save it. Record the amount you want to save in the Goal Amount column. In the Monthly Saving column add the amount you can save per month from your salary without putting yourself in a financial bind and click the Calculate button. The calculator will give you the amount of time it takes to save the amount you desire.
